I just published a piece over at PopMatters on the failure of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts to land in Chicago. As someone with a deep passion for both popular culture and museums, I took an especially keen interest in this project as it played out. I'm disappointed in the outcome--for Chicago's sake--and also feel both parties were to blame in this. A shame. Anyway, this was my crack at articulating what happened--at least from a public relations standpoint--with an eye towards rethinking the Museum's approach as it attempts to move back to California, where it already failed once.
